The execution of an arrest warrant on an Ottumwa woman for theft led to the arrest of three individuals for various charges.

Katrina Kirchner (left), 45, has been charged with fifth-degree theft, possession of a controlled substance – third or subsequent offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, and interference with official acts.

John Amburn (center), 21, faces two counts of dominion/control of a firearm by domestic abuse offender, possession of drug paraphernalia, and interference with official acts.

Tiffany Miller (right), 34, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and interference with official acts.

Court records say on May 7, Kirchner took merchandise from Hobby Lobby along with two other suspects, concealed it on her person, and left the store without paying for the goods despite a store manager requesting she return the items.

A warrant was issued for Kirchner’s arrest and on May 8, officers from the Ottumwa Police Department arrived at a residence on South Willard Street to execute the warrant. According to court documents, Kirchner was found and placed under arrest for theft. She was wearing a fanny pack that contained a small amount of marijuana and a used syringe. Kirchner also refused to put her hands behind her back when she was apprehended.

Authorities say Amburn was discovered sitting in the driver’s side of his car with a .22 caliber rifle in the passenger seat. Ammunition for the firearm was also found in a backpack belonging to Amburn. Amburn is currently a defendant in a no-contact order and is forbidden to possess any weapons.

According to court documents, Miller was found hiding in a closet because she had an active arrest warrant. Officers discovered multiple items of drug paraphernalia in the home and in Miller’s purse.

Kirchner, Amburn, and Miller were transported to the Wapello County Jail. They are currently being held without bond.
