Wapello County Sees 2 Additional COVID Deaths


Two additional residents of Wapello County have passed away from COVID-19, according to Wapello County health officials.

According to a press release from Wapello County Emergency Management and Public Health, two individuals died in the last 2 days as a result of COVID-19. On Tuesday, June 2, 2020 an individual over the age of 81 passed away and Wednesday, June 3, 2020 an individual in the age range of 61-80 passed away. No other information about the deceased has been given at this time.

These deaths bring the current number of COVID deaths in Wapello County to 14. As of Wednesday, 586 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Wapello County, with 328 having recovered. Wapello County are urged to continue to vigilantly follow the recommendations of Iowa Department of Public Health to protect their own health, and that of others, especially those most vulnerable.
