UPDATE: Wapello County Emergency Management and Public Health announced a third death early Friday evening, raising the death toll in the county to nine. The deceased was an elderly adult over the age of 81.
Wapello County health officials made the announcement Friday morning that two more residents have died from the novel coronavirus.
One of the individuals was a middle-aged adult between the ages of 41-60. The second person who passed away was an older adult between 61-80 years old. Both patients were receiving appropriate medical care, according to the press release. A total of eight residents in Wapello County have died from the virus.
Wapello County’s latest update says 528 residents have tested positive for COVID-19. 21 have been hospitalized. 314 people in the county have recovered.
