Sharron Marie Halbrook, 65, of Farmington, IA passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at the Van Buren County Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Sharron Marie Halbrook was born on July 31, 1956, in Keosauqua, IA to Verlin and Erma Smith Palmer. She attended school at Harmony Schools where she graduated with the Class of 1975. On December 18, 1976, she was united in marriage to Glenn Halbrook. Together they became the loving parents of three children: Timothy, Kelli, and Matthew. Sharron loved being a mother and took care of everything that they needed. She also was co-owner and worked at Halbrook’s Sporting Goods for many years as well as several years as the owner of the car wash and laundromat. Sharron’s greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and loved preparing meals for family and friends. When she had free time, she enjoyed playing cards, working in her yard, and tending to her flowers. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and St. Louis Cardinals fan, but always cheered the loudest for her grandchildren. Sharron will be deeply missed by her family and the many friends she made along the way.

Left to share her story is her loving husband, Glenn Halbrook of Farmington, IA; two children, Timothy (Keri) Halbrook of Farmington, IA and Matthew (Heather) Halbrook of West Point, IA; three grandchildren, Carson Halbrook, Jewel Halbrook, and Pearl Halbrook; her mother, Erma Palmer of Mt. Pleasant, IA; three siblings, Cheryl (Jeff) DeFosse of Mediapolis, IA, Brenda (Ken) Hooton of Keller, TX,
and Marvin (Torie) Palmer of Washington, IA, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends Sharron was preceded in death by her father, Verlin Palmer, a daughter, Kelli Halbrook, and a grandson, Logan Halbrook in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, IA. Burial will be in the Green Glade Cemetery in Farmington, IA immediately following the service. Visitation will begin at noon on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, IA with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Memorial
