A south Iowa woman was arrested after she inappropriately touched a child in 2019, according to the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office.
74-year-old Evelyn Kinney of Seymour has been charged with third-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony.
Court records say in December 2019, Kinney touched the private area of an 8-year-old girl. The incident allegedly occurred at a residence at Rabbit Run Road in Ottumwa.
Kinney was arrested on March 1st, 2022, and was transported to the Wapello County Jail. She has since been released on her own recognizance.
Kinney pleaded not guilty to the charge she faces. She also waived her preliminary hearing.
