Post-Christmas Winter Weather on the Horizon

There is a winter weather advisory from Friday, January 11 to Saturday, January 12 along and south of Interstate 80.

According to a release from INWS there is snow expected from three to six inches with the highest totals closer to the Missouri border. The following counties are expected to be impacted:Dallas, Polk, Jasper, Poweshiek, Cass, Adair, Madison, Warren, Marion, Mahaska, Adams, Union, Clarke, Lucas, Monroe, Wapello, Taylor, Ringgold, Decatur, Wayne, Appanoose, and Davis.

The advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. on Friday to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Drivers are urged to plan on slippery road conditions. Also, hazardous conditions could impact Friday evening travel into the Saturday morning commute. The advisory area may be expanded north if the storm shifts north in the next 24 hours.
