An Ottumwa man who had been reported as missing on Monday was found safe Tuesday morning by Ottumwa Police.
Police had asked for the public’s help in locating 34-year-old Audie Lee Templeton, who was reported missing after leaving his home at 218 N. Van Buren on the night of May 13th. Templeton, who is mentally challenged, was located shortly before 10:00 Tuesday morning. Medical personnel were called to the scene to check on his condition, but Ottumwa police sent out a short statement saying Templeton was indeed safe.

Ottumwa police are seeking the public’s help in locating a mentally challenged man who disappeared from his home earlier this week.
34-year-old Audie Lee Templeton left his home at 218 N. Van Buren in Ottumwa on the night of May 13th, and has not been seen since. Police describe him as being a white man, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 180 pounds, with green eyes and brown hair. Templeton wears glasses, and was also wearing a heavy brown coat, shoes, pants.
Police say Templeton frequently walks on and around railroad tracks. If anyone has seen him, or has any information on where he might be, you’re asked to call the Ottumwa Police Department at 641-683-0661, or their closest law enforcement agency.
