Pekin High School Principal Resigns

By Ellis Codjoe, January 10, 2018

The Pekin Community School District is in search of a new Middle and High School Principal after Principal Tim Hadley announced his resignation at the Monday, January 8th School Board Meeting.

“I would continue to say that Pekin is heading in a phenomenal direction, I’ve been blessed to be a part of the leadership team,” Hadley told Ottumwa Radio News.

In a blog post, Hadley explains that he has missed interacting with students on a regular basis.

“I just missed the day to day interaction with students, I got caught up in the minutia of keeping the trains running,” Hadley said. “Thats awesome for some people, I was missing interacting with the students.”

Hadley’s resignation will take effect at the end of the current school year.

Even though he will be leaving an administrative position at the school district, Hadley hopes to remain in the Pekin community.

“It is my prayer and my hope to remain on staff at some level and to “discern” the next steps in my life,” Hadley wrote. “Whether that be in a teaching or support position,” he added to Ottumwa Radio News.

Hadley first joined the Pekin staff in 2008 as a History Teacher. He became 6-12 Principal in 2014.
