Patricia Joyce Fligg was born in Batavia, IA on March 23, 1939, the daughter of Donald and Alice Johansmeier Humble. She grew up and attended school in Batavia graduating with the class of 1957. During this time, she met a young man from the rival school in Eldon. Patricia and Fred were united in marriage on December 11, 1960, at the Methodist Church in Batavia. They lived a short time in Eldon
before moving to Batavia where they lived for many years. Together they became the loving parents to four children: Theron Lacey, Tracey, Trudy, and Tobi. Patricia worked at several different places throughout her life but her full-time job, and the one she truly loved, was being a mother and wife. She was an excellent cook and always looked forward to preparing large meals for her extended family.
Patricia was not only a mother to her own children but took care of anyone in the neighborhood who needed help. Fred’s work eventually took them to Atkins, IA, which they would call home for the remainder of her life. Patricia had a strong faith and always took time to study her bible attend church. She was a gifted seamstress and enjoyed ceramics, knitting, and crochet. Her presence will be missed but her memory will remain in the hearts of her family, and the many who called her friend.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Marjorie Teninty and sister-in-law, Linda Humble.

Left to share her story is her loving husband, Fred Fligg of Atkins, IA; four children, Theron Lacey Fligg of Eldon, IA, Tracey (Susan) Fligg of Tiffin, IA, Trudy (Greg) Naso of Las Vegas, NV, and Tobi Peterman of Cedar Rapids, IA; thirteen grandchildren, Kalie Fligg, Allysa (Garrett) Ellard, Michaela Fligg (Scottie Golembiewski), Maliah (Cody) Van Dee, Jacob (Kiersten) Naso, Celia (Andy) Huff, Dominic Naso, Lacey (Mark) Krouse, Ava (Jeff) Ketels, Ella Peterman, Dylan Fligg, Cody Fligg, and Justin Fligg; eight great grandchildren; four siblings, Cheryl (Reed) Vass, Richard (Denise) Humble, Larry Humble, and Ellis (Kathy) Humble, as well as many extended family and friends.
