Patricia Buckley

Patricia J. Buckley, 87, of Ottumwa, died at 9:37 a.m. March 5, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa.

She was born February 25, 1932 in Ottumwa to Arch and Moye Miller Thomas.  Patty married Roger G. Buckley on August 13, 1950 and he preceded her in death on November 5, 2010.

Patty was a 1949 graduate of Ottumwa High School.  She worked at Williams Dairy and Bookin Jewelry while she was in high school.  She had worked for a short time as secretary for Swartz Contractors.

She was a member of Davis Street Christian Church and Christian Women’s Fellowship.  She and her husband enjoyed attending Ottumwa High School events, especially their grandchildren’s sporting and 4-H events.

Surviving are her sons, Steve Buckley of Ottumwa and David Buckley (fiancée Tammy Appelget) of Oskaloosa; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer (Austin) Norris of Oskaloosa, Michael (Jessica) Buckley of Pella and Eric Buckley (Michelle Corum) of Kansas City, MO; 7 great-grandchildren, Camden, Hayden, Asher, Grayson, Ashten, Audrey and Hadley; 2 brothers-in-law, Ed Wilkerson and Jack Warner both of Ottumwa; a sister-in-law, Mary Buckley of Newton.

She was preceded in death by siblings, Betty Scott, Shirley Wilkerson and Bill Thomas.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Davis Street Christian Church with Rev. James H. Wakelin  officiating.  Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials may be made to Davis Street Christian Church or Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa Hospice.
