Patricia Pieternella Bibby, 78, died at 10:56 a.m. September 16, 2022 at the home of her grandson.
She was born February 22, 1944 in Oskaloosa to Abraham Willis and Pieternella Cordilla DeJong Schippers. Pat married Logan Joe Bibby on January 7, 1995 and he preceded her in death on April 12, 2010.
Growing up 6 miles west of Eddyville, she was a graduate of Eddyville High School. Pat had worked at Colormaster, Farm & Country, Shaw Photo, Big Bear and the Goodwill. She cooked for 3 years for the Senior Citizen Center and also cooked for the Boy Scouts.
Pat loved hanging out with her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Surviving is her daughter, Diana Sterrett of Ottumwa; 2 grandsons, Eric Humble and Aaron Humble; 6 great-grandchildren, Austin Humble, Destiny Humble, Brooklyn Humble, Eric Humble Jr., Junior Humble and Rylynn Rummons; step-children, Don (Teresa) Bibby, Mike (Rebekah) Bibby and Mark Bibby all of Ottumwa and John (Sally) Bibby of Columbia, MO; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; a brother, A.W. “Will” (Linda) Schippers Jr. of Colorado; and a very close friend, Janice VanHelten of Canton, MO.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Katherine Jean Rainbolt.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 20th, at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page. The family will be present to greet friends one hour prior to the service.
Cremation will follow the services. Inurnment will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 22nd, in Shaul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
