Ottumwa’s annual Thanksgiving dinner is a week away.
This year’s annual feast will be served at the Knights of Columbus located at 124 West Third Street. The meal is free and patrons can stop by starting at 11:00 AM Thanksgiving morning (Nov. 28) until 1:00 PM.
There is also a delivery option. Orders are currently being taken. Anyone wanting a Thanksgiving meal delivered to them should call Jennifer at (641) 660-4290 or Angie at (641) 226-2313. Reservations will be taken from now until Wednesday, November 27.
The meal consists of turkey, dressing, potatoes and gravy, a vegetable, roll, and dessert.
Pam Ward is an organizer of the yearly dinner. She appeared on Mid Morning Magazine on 1240 AM/102.7 FM KBIZ Thursday morning and said the food is a result of the donations from many entities including the Wapello County Foundation. The donations allow the meal to be provided free of charge, Ward said.
Ward estimates that 1800 meals will be served this year and approximately 80 people will be volunteering.
