Ottumwa to Hold MLK Celebration

January 17th is Martin Luther King Day and the city of Ottumwa will be holding its annual celebration.

The event will be held Monday night at 7:00 at St. Mary’s of the Visitation. The program will feature several students from the Ottumwa Community School District, Second Baptist Church, Indian Hills Community College, and local city officials.

The keynote speaker will be Pastor Diane Kroger of Second Baptist Church. In 2018 she made history by becoming the first African American female pastor in Iowa.

The theme for this year’s celebration is: Let The Peace Begin With Me.
