Ottumwa police were busy Wednesday morning, responding to over a dozen reports of vehicles that were broken into overnight.
According to the daily log, police received 13 calls about vehicle break-ins, with all but two of them centered in an area on the south side of Ottumwa. The first report came from South Webster Street, just before four o’clock in the morning. Ten more break-ins were reported at around six in the morning, with cars having been broken into on South Ferry, South Pocahontas, West Williams and Lillian streets, and on Glenwood Avenue.
Two more vehicle break-ins were reported on the north side of Ottumwa, one on West Rochester Road and the other on Brentwood Drive.
Authorities have not yet made any arrests in these cases, and police have not released any information about the value of items that may have been stolen.
