Ottumwa Man in Jail After Traffic Stop

An Ottumwa man faces prison time after a drug arrest in Bativia.

On Wednesday morning, 24 year old Jack David Hamilton was pulled over by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. Upon inspection of his vehicle, deputies found approximately 20 grams of ice methamphetamine.

Hamilton was placed under arrest and charged with the following:

  • possession of more than 5 grams of methamphetamine with the intent to distrubute, a Class B felony
  • Failure to affix a drug stamp, a Class D felony
  • Driving while barred, an aggravated misdemeanor

According to Jefferson County Attorney Timothy Dille, Hamilton is currently in the Jefferson County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
