Ottumwa Man Behind Bars After Domestic Arrest

An Ottumwa man is in jail after being arrested in connection to a domestic incident Friday afternoon.

Sergeant Derek Shaw of the Ottumwa Police Department told Ottumwa Radio News that they received a call regarding a domestic disturbance at a residence on Grandview. An investigation was launched.

20 minutes later, police discovered an adult female bleeding on the corner of 2nd Street and Cooper Avenue. Authorities determined that the female was connected to the occurrence on Grandview. The victim was transported to Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

Lambry Mabassy, 38, was taken into custody. He has been charged with domestic child abuse, assault causing bodily injury, criminal mischief and child endangerment. Mabassy is currently in the Wapello County Jail. At the time of this writing, bail had not been set.
