Ottumwa Little League season once again suspended due to COVID-19

OTTUMWA, IA – With the initially postponed tryouts just four days away, the Ottumwa Little League Board of Representatives, along with Iowa Little League, has made the decision to suspend all activities for the 2020 season until June 1 at the earliest.

The Board had announced in late April they would move forward with tryouts for Pee Wee May 11 and 13, Minors and Majors 12 & 14, and their Drafts the 15, however with the continued rise in COVID-19 cases in Wapello County, a further postponement for player and parent safety concerns is the right move.

The national Little League organization had already elected to cancel this year’s World Series and championship tournaments in an announcement made April 30. This will be the first year since 1947 the Little League World Series will not take place.
