Ottumwa Juvenile Faces Robbery Charge

An Ottumwa juvenile was apprehended after a Monday morning robbery in North Ottumwa.

According to a press release from the Ottumwa Police Department, 23-year-old Ayoub Ali made arrangements to sell his used cell phone to an interested party via Facebook Marketplace. When it was time to meet for the transaction, the suspect pulled a handgun on Ali and demanded the cell phone.

The investigation into this incident led police to execute a search warrant at a residence on Hill Avenue. Authorities found evidence of the robbery.

Monday afternoon, 17-year-old Keondro D’Angelo Miller was arrested and charged with First Degree Robbery, a Class B felony.

Because of the felony charge, Miller was automatically waived to adult court. He was arraigned and is currently in the Lee County Juvenile Detention Facility in Montrose, Iowa.
