The Central fire station in Ottumwa will receive some much needed attention following action taken by the Ottumwa City Council last night.

The council approved a recommendation to award a contract to Patric Reiley Masonry after they submitted the best bid price of 14-thousand, 418 dollars for masonry repair work at the Central Fire station.

The project will consist of masonry repairs to include routing and caulking, miscellaneous brick replacement, and water proofing the chimney cap on the building.

The council also approved a recommendation to award a contract to Yates and Yates Glass Company of Ottumwa after they submitted the best bid price of 17-thousand, 989-dollars.

The project will include routing and caulking some areas of the building and the installation of two new steel framed doors.  The current door frames have rusted and shifted to a point that the doors frequently stick.  Nine windows have cracked panes and need replaced.
