Oskaloosa Businessman Offers Reward Following Burglary

By Ellis Codjoe, January 10, 2018

An Oskaloosa businessman is offering a reward after his establishment was broken into early Monday morning.

At approximately 5:00 A.M. Monday, a male wearing blue jeans, glasses, a black coat and ski mask entered the Cork and Bottle Liquor Store at 309 A Avenue West in Oskalooa.

The man used a dolly to remove a safe from the building. Owner Mike Chauhan says the safe contained cash deposits, a coin collection, car titles, passports and other paperwork.

“We are offering a reward of $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction,” Chauhan told Ottumwa Radio News.

The suspect may have been driving a newer black four door car.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Oskaloosa Police Department at (641) 672-2557.

Chauhan has shared a video of the encounter on his company’s facebook page.
