One Dead, Two Injured in Marion County Head-On Collision


A man was killed and two others were injured in a head-on collision in Marion County on Monday evening.

At approximately 6:50 PM, a pickup truck driven by 82-year-old Richard Marshall of Knoxville was traveling southbound on a bridge on Highway 14. According to the accident report, the truck collided with a Ford Escape traveling northbound driven by 57-year-old Gary Neal of Knoxville.

Neal died from injuries sustained in the crash. Marshall and a passenger, 80-year-old Nancy Marshall of Knoxville, were injured and each was transported to the hospital where their current status is unknown.

The Iowa State Patrol says the accident is still under investigation.
