OHS Student Found With Firearm

Earlier this morning, an Ottumwa High School student was found in possession of a firearm. According to Community Programs Director Kim Hellige, no threats were made and school will continue as normally scheduled.

The situation was brought to the attention of a staff member. The student in question was immediately pulled from class and questioned by the school resource officer. Upon further investigation, the administration believes that the situation is under control and everyone is safe. School will still dismiss today at 12:30 p.m. which was the originally scheduled time.

More details will be divulged as they become available. This incident is still under investigation.
