Officers Respond to Shots Fired – No Injuries Reported

Ottumwa Police Officers responded to a report of a shooting in downtown Ottumwa Sunday.

Ottumwa Police Lieutenant Chad Farrington says in a press release that officers were called to the 300 block of East Main Street at 1:42 Sunday morning.

Officers searched the area, including the newly remodeled parking area south of the 300 block of East Main Street.

Farrington says police found approximately 25 empty shell casings from two different calibers of ammunition.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the incident, though Farrington says buildings and vehicles were damaged as a result of the gunfire.
