Ottumwa Fire Chief Tony Miller said today that Ottumwa’s new one-million dollar fire truck will probably NOT be delivered until January 2015. The truck is an aerial vehicle that will reach the top of Ottumwa’s tallest building, WestgateTowers, and will be adaptable to deal with the uneven landscape of North Ottumwa, when battling fires.
Miller said that the construction and assembly of the new firetruck has been pushed back about a month, due to delays. Miller said that members of the Ottumwa Fire Department will be traveling to the assembly line soon, to inspect the progress of assembly.
Delivery time, miller said, should take place around the second week of January.
