New Board of Trustee Member

OTTUMWA — Beth Danowsky is the newest member of the Indian Hills Community College Board of Trustees, representing the Sigourney area on the nine-member board. Danowsky replaces Bob Pitsch, who resigned after 25 years on the IHCC board.

Danowsky is the Community Development Manager at Musco Lighting in Oskaloosa where she is responsible for working with partners on projects that improve the sustainability of the community. She also chairs the East Central Iowa Transportation Coalition and Mahaska Community Development Group.

“I’m honored to be part of the Board of Trustees,” Danowsky said, “and I look forward to playing a part in the work of offering an education for students who want to compete globally, but remain rooted in this area.”  Danowsky said she feels Iowa is served well by the community college network.

“Our region, in particular, has benefitted from strong leadership at Indian Hills, people who have kept the focus on the demographics and economics of the region, and who respond to the needs of students and business partners.”

John Pothoven, from Oskaloosa, is the president of the IHCC Board of Trustees.
