Muscatine Man Wanted in Connection to Threats to High School

A warrant for a Muscatine man’s arrest has been issued in connection to threats targeted toward North Mahaska High School in September.

The Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office says it has filed two counts of first-degree harassment (aggravated misdemeanor) and a count of threats of terrorism (Class D felony) against 20-year-old Levi Garrett DeLong.

The sheriff’s office says it was dispatched to the high school the night of September 20th in response to threats made via social media that targeted a student and the school.

Since that night, the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office says it has been coordinating with the Muscatine Police Department, Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office and the Mahaska County Attorney’s Office in obtaining social media subpoenas and conducting interviews.

The exact nature of the alleged threats was not disclosed by the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office.
