December 9, 2014 – Ottumwa, Iowa – The intersection at Quincy Avenue and Mowrey Avenue will be closed to all traffic beginning Wednesday, December 10th. Motorists will need to take other routes off of Mowrey, with Johnson Street being the last available route. Quincy Avenue will remain open to through traffic during this work. With favorable work conditions, the intersection should be re-opened to traffic by Wednesday, December 17th. Drivers need to pay close attention and use caution while traveling through work zones.
The Quincy Avenue Reconstruction Project is focused on Quincy from Albia Road to Highway 34. Work includes major improvements to the storm water system. Pavement milling and asphalt overlay will occur in 2015. The $1.3 million project is funded through the City’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Norris Asphalt Paving Company is the contractor for the project.
