UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 58-year-old Diane Golos.
The case remains under investigation. The cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.
A woman using oxygen was killed in an explosion at her home, according to authorities.
Personnel from the Appanoose County Sheriff’s Office, Centerville Fire Department, and the Moravia First Responders were called to a Moravia residence on Wednesday afternoon.
The woman, who has not been identified, was using an oxygen machine for medical purposes. An unknown ignition source was the catalyst of an explosion that exposed the victim to fire and smoke. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
