(Oskaloosa)— Thanks to a 20-thousand dollar grant from the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s Main Street Program, officials with Main Street Oskaloosa will be able to move forward with a marketing plan. The grant money will be used by Main Street Oskaloosa to fund a two phased community branding and marketing plan that includes the hiring of nationally recognized expert Roger Brooks.
Karen Hafner Oskaloosa Main Street Director says the grant is significant because Oskaloosa will be the first Iowa Main Streetcommunity to work with Roger Brooks. Brooks has worked with communities across the country to help them develop a message that sets them apart, rather than trying to be all things to all people.
Hafner says Brooks will advise Main Street Oskaloosa and area volunteers in the process of creating honed branding materials and a successful marketing campaign.
