The Mahaska Health Foundation has announced the first annual Light the Night event, to take place in November.
According to a press release, Light the Night will feature a display of the campus Christmas tree on Monday, November 30th at 5:30 p.m. The public is encouraged to drive by to see the lighting of the tree as well as enjoy hot cocoa and a candy cane. The event will spotlight a specific cause each year, with the inaugural event highlighting those who have battled cancer.
As part of the focus on those who have or currently are battling cancer, a fundraising event will also be taking place to benefit the Cancer Care and Infusion Center. Starting on October 1st, Mahaska Health Foundation will be selling Christmas lights to be used for the Light the Night event. Those interested in purchasing lights as well as having themselves or loved ones recognized on the list of honored or memorialized donors have until November 25th. The first light costs $25 while each subsequent light will cost $20.
