A food pantry in Jefferson County will be saying goodbye to its longtime executive director as the search for her replacement commmences.
The Lord’s Cupboard is an emergency food pantry located in Fairfield. Laura Cohen has been the executive director since 2013 and according to a press release, she is moving to the Chicago area.
“It will be hard to leave The Lord’s Cupboard behind after eight years,” says Cohen.
“The clients, the volunteers, and the Board of Directors have been wonderful. To find a part-time position where I could really make a difference in the community has been such a gift.”
The executive director position is part-time and the deadline for interested applicants is 4:00 PM on Monday, April 12th.
The Lord’s Cupboard says its purpose is to help low-income Jefferson County residents restock food supplies when a little extra help is needed. Those wanting more information can call (641) 472-8457.
The food pantry is open on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons.
