Linda Moore, 76, of Oskaloosa, Iowa, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022, at UnityPoint Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Linda Joanne (Eddy) Moore was born on March 13, 1945, in Osceola, Iowa, to Twyla Fern (Johnson) and Olin Everette Eddy. She grew up on the farm in rural Osceola with her sister, Barbara, and cousins Diane, Marsha, and Marna. Linda attended the rural Leslie School through 8th grade and graduated from Clark County High School in 1963. Linda studied Home Economics at Iowa State University from 1963 – 1967, interning at the Marshall Fields Department Store in Chicago, Illinois, after her junior year.

Linda met her future husband, Larry, when, as the story goes, she wasn’t ready on time and switched dates with her roommate. They were married on July 1, 1967, in Ames, Iowa, and have three children, Tiffany Moore, Mark (Janine) Moore, and Holly (Gregg) Osborn; 4 grandchildren, Brittany (Wyatt) Anderson, Lucas (Megan) Osborn, Elizabeth Moore, and Macy Moore; and three great-grandchildren, Karson and Zayne Anderson and Madilynn Osborn.

While raising a family and running the farm near What Cheer with Larry, she always found time to sew, bake fun birthday cakes, and host gatherings of all sizes with family and friends. A lifelong artist, she filled their home with knitting, macrame, tatting, crafts, and paintings. After moving to Oskaloosa in 2000, Linda continued to participate in church activities and attend community events. As MS impacted her mobility, caregivers helped her remain active. For many years, Heather Morrow’s doting companionship ensured Linda’s days were filled with conversation, her favorite lunch at Wendy’s, and the perfect manicures she so enjoyed.

Linda was a member of several churches during her life, including the Osceola First Christian Church, Indianapolis Christian Church, Gibson United Presbyterian Church, and Oskaloosa First Christian Church, helping on committees, with Bible School activities, and hosting receptions.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Linda and share stories from every chapter of her amazing life on Saturday, April 30, from 2-4 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Oskaloosa, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Mid-Iowa Boxer Rescue.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 30th at the First Christian Church in Oskaloosa. As was her wish, her body has been cremated and her ashes will be interred at the Indianapolis Cemetery near What Cheer, Iowa. Langkamp Funeral Chapel & Crematory is entrusted with her final arrangements.
