OTTUMWA, IA – Since our Ottumwa Radio Group Athlete of the Week feature has been put on hold due to the cancellation of the Spring sports season, we have decided to recognize Seniors at area high schools and colleges for the time being. With that said, the KTWA Senior of the Week is: Madelyn Jones, a now graduate of Ottumwa High School!
During her time at Ottumwa, Madelyn participated in several activities including swim, dance, Shark Club, and Cheer. She complimented her teachers and other staff at OHS for creating good relationships with her during her career as a Bulldog.
When asked what advice she would give to underclassmen, Madelyn said, “Never skip anything, participate in as many activities as you can, make as many memories as you can.” During this tumultuous senior year, Madelyn says she learned to not take anything for granted because it can be taken away in the blink of an eye. “I think being in high school just defines you as you go through those four years. You meet new people, lose old, and learn so much about yourself and others.”
Madelyn will be continuing her academic career in the Nursing program at Indian Hills Community College, and she also plans to be a member of the Cheer squad.
Ottumwa Radio’s Senior of the Week program is made possible by the generosity of Pella Regional Therapy in Ottumwa. Join us in congratulating Madelyn Jones, the KTWA Senior of the Week!
