Kevin George Griffiths, 53, of Ottumwa, died June 25, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
He was born February 26, 1969 in Ottumwa to George Paul and Anna Louise White Griffiths. He married Robyn King August 10, 1991.
A 1987 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Kevin attended Indian Hills Community College and Buena Vista University. He earned his master’s degree in Safety Security and Emergency Preparedness Management from Eastern Kentucky University. Kevin worked for 23 years at John Deere Ottumwa Works, currently as Plant Safety Manager.
He enjoyed playing softball, hunting, golfing, riding bicycles, and playing with his dogs. Kevin also was a fan of the Houston Astros, Miami Dolphins and Iowa Hawkeyes.
Surviving is his wife, Robyn; their two sons, Damon Griffiths and Seth Griffiths (Ivy Cutler) both of Ottumwa; and his beloved dog, Remington; four brothers, Mike Griffiths (fiancée, Kelly Eklofe) of Ottumwa, Jeff (Angie) Griffiths of Ottumwa, Jim (Jeri) Griffiths of Jacksonville, FL and Doug (Melanie) Griffiths of Oskaloosa; two sisters, Sherrie (Curtis) Heemsbergen of Selma and Deb (Dan) Larkin of Ottumwa; his mother-in-law, Dianne Harter; father-in-law, Gerald Harter; sisters-in-law, Dana (Tim) Kuehl and Melinda Greene; brother-in-law, Jerry (Karen) Harter; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be open after 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 29th at Reece Funeral Home with his family present to greet friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 30th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Shane Frazier officiating. For those unable to attend, you may view the service live on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
