Kenneth Lee Norton a lifelong resident of Fairfield, Iowa passed peacefully on Thursday, August 18, 2022, with family by his side.

A memorial service is scheduled for September 10th, at 2:00 pm at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Heidi Williams officiating.  To celebrate Kens life a gathering at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center will follow after the service from 3:00 -5:00 pm.

Kenny is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Sharon Norton, daughter Lori Pacha (Rick) of Coralville, Iowa, granddaughters Chloe Pacha, Carbondale, CO, Olivia Pacha Salt Lake City, UT sister, Connie Clark-Louderback (Nick) of Oskaloosa, nephew Anthony Ehlers of Altoona. Deborah Carlsen (honorary sister) Plymouth, MN and niece Jaclyn Carlsen, Plymouth, MN and South Africa, Molly his loyal springer spaniel and many cousins.

Kenny enjoyed many things, music, gardening, cooking, golfing, and spending time with friends and family.  Playing the drums in Fairfield Community Band and the Fairfield All Star Jazz Band brought him so much joy.  He was involved in many community organizations, a Founding Board Member of Fairfield Arts & Convention Center and member of First Lutheran Church in Fairfield. 

Kenny loved retirement but continued to serve his community. He drove a school bus for Fairfield Community School District in which he loved dearly in his later years.  Ken spent the bulk of his work life in sales and marketing in men’s clothing for Robert Bruce Sportswear. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1962 and continued his education at Parsons College.

Kenny had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and like family. Generous and kind.  Even as he faced many health challenges he did so with dignity and courage, he had an amazing way of staying positive along this long journey. He continued to teach us all in the end that life goes on and to celebrate each day.  His legacy will live on in all of us and he will be dearly missed.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Eloise Norton and Verle Norton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to – First Lutheran Church of Fairfield, Fairfield Arts & Convention Center, and Hospice Compasses of Washington.  Cards and memorials may be mailed to Sharon Norton, 1001 E Harrison, Fairfield, IA 52556.
