Glen Orville Hall, Jr., 87, of Ottumwa, died at 2:02 p.m. May 18, 2022 at Ridgewood Specialty Care.
He was born December 15, 1934 in Ottumwa to Glen O. and Lenora Elsie Penniston Hall Sr. He married Betty J. Cooper on June 3, 1956.
A 1954 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Junior served in the Iowa Army National Guard. He farmed west of Ottumwa as well as working for John Deere Ottumwa Works for 29 years, retiring in 1994.
Glen had attended Ottumwa Community Church.
Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Betty; a son, Richard (Debbie) Hall of Blakesburg; a daughter, Lori (Sandy) Mahood of Boone; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, James Hall of Story City; and a sister, Shirley Coplen of Lawrence, KS.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Hall; sisters, Barbara Roorda, Donna Jean Veenstra and infant, Glena Hall and an infant brother.
Visitation will be open at 10 a.m. Monday, May 23rd at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday. Cremation will follow the visitation.
Private graveside memorial services and inurnment will be held Thursday, May 26th at Chisman Cemetery with military services conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jacob’s Gift.
