Jesse “Wally” Bruce Hardin, 69, of Milton, IA passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022, at his home. As were his wishes, his body has been cremated. A celebration of Jesse’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in his honor may be directed to the family and mailed to 307 4 th St., Keosauqua, IA 52565. Jesse “Wally” Bruce Hardin was born on May 12, 1953, in Des Moines, IA to Hugh and Elzina Hook Hardin. He attended the Van Buren Community School District, graduating with the high school class of 1971. Jesse worked at several jobs throughout his life, including farming and being a truck driver. He also took Water Technician Courses in Cedar Rapids before going to work for Rathbun Rural Water where he worked for several years. On April 6, 2017, he was united in marriage to Sherri Smith at their home. Jesse loved dogs, especially bulldogs, and was a collector of bulldog figurines. He enjoyed sports and always supported his favorite team, the Pittsburg Steelers. Family was always important to Jesse, and he loved spending time at family BBQ’s and get togethers. He cared deeply for his
nieces and nephews and always made sure to keep up on their activities. He will be missed by his family and many friends.
Jesse was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Hardin.
Left to honor his memory is his wife, Sherri Hardin of Lebanon, IA; his mother, Elzina Hardin of Keosauqua, IA; four brothers, Randy Hardin of Keosauqua, IA, Cliff Hardin of Danville, IL, Clint (Judy) Hardin of Birmingham, IA, and Eddie (Coreen) Hardin of Fairchild, WI; as well as many extended family and friends.
