After a week off, the Iowa State Cyclones prepare for this week’s visit from a nationally ranked Baylor team that blasted the Cyclones 71-7 a year ago. Baylor is best known for the passing of quarterback Bryce Petty, but ISU head coach Rhoads says the Bears want to be balanced. Rhoads says it will be up to the ISU offense to keep the Cyclones in the game, not only by scoring points, but by controlling the time of possession and keeping the Baylor offense off the field.
Rhoads also says Baylor will put a lot of pressure on the Cyclone defensive backs. The Bears can turn a short pass into a big gain and, Rhoads knows that’s what the Cyclones need to limit.
Iowa State is hoping for some of the same nighttime Jack Trice Stadium magic that carried them to a win over Baylor two years ago, as well as the memorable upset of #2 Oklahoma State in 2011. Kickoff on Saturday takes place just after 7:00. The pregame show begins at 5:00 on 1480 KLEE.
