Frank Vernon Wilson, 91, of Ottumwa, died at 5:35 a.m. December 6, 2022 at Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa.

He was born July 2, 1931 in Ottumwa to Harold Vernon and Helen Margaret Gardner Wilson. Frank married Bette Jeane Fullmer on February 25, 1951 and she preceded him in death on August 9, 2018.

A 1949 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Frank served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-54 stationed in Hawaii during the Korean War. He had worked at Frito Lay, Wilson Grocery and Employment Service in Davenport. He then worked for 33 years for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring as supervisor in 1993.

He was a member and Past Master of Ottumwa Masonic Lodge #16 A.F.& A.M. and served as secretary for many years. He was a member and Past Master of Empire Masonic Lodge #269 A.F. & A.M. Frank was also District Lecturer, a member of Davenport Consistory, Ottumwa Shrine Club, Clinton Chapter #9 Royal Arch Masons, Ottumwa Council #31 Royal and Select Masters, Malta Commandery #31 Knights Templar, Christina Court #3 Order of the Amaranth, Wapello White Shrine #4. He had been a member of Ottumwa Chapter #112 Order of Eastern Star and currently a member of Rose Chapter #552 Order of Eastern Star. Since 1985, Frank conducted Masonic funeral service for Lodges throughout southeast Iowa.

Surviving is his son, Michael of Ottumwa; his brother, John (Joanne) Wilson of Kingman, AZ; and two nieces, Megan and Morgan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Wilson.

His body has been cremated.

Military honors and Masonic services will be 3 p.m. Friday, December 9th, at Reece Funeral Home. The services will be livestreamed on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page..

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ottumwa Masonic Lodge #16 A.F. & A.M.
