Felon’s Arrest Could See Greater Prison Time

By Aaryn Frazier, May 16, 2018

Wapello County Sheriff’s Office arrested Eric William McFarland, age 40 of Agency with multiple charges.

After an early morning report of possible domestic assault, the Wapello County Sheriff’s Deputies made the arrest and charged McFarland with Domestic Abuse with Intent to Inflict Serious Injury or uses or displays of a Dangerous Weapon (Aggravated Misdemeanor), Possession, Receipt, Intimidation With A Dangerous Weapon and Transportation, or Dominion and Control of Firearms by a Felon (Class D Felonies), and False Imprisonment (Serious Misdemeanor).

The two D Felonies are a five-year prison sentence each, while the others amount to a two-year sentence and the False Imprisonment charges will see jail time.

Whether the sentences are to be served concurrently or not is up to the judge. McFarland has been released from the Wapello County Jail after posting a $10,000 bond.
