Fairfield Police issue annual report


(Fairfield)— A new report issued by the Fairfield Police Department shows in increase in criminal activities.

The report indicates the Fairfield Police Department saw a 3-percent increase in calls, a 17-percent increase in criminal investigations, a 15-percent increase in offenders charged.  In addition, Fairfield police recorded a 25-percent increase in overall criminal charges and a 13-percent increase in arrests during the past year.

Captain David Thomas from the Fairfield Police Department says the department saw an increase in criminal activity in 2013, however the invaluable partnership between the citizens and police officers led to an increase in the number of individuals arrests for such crimes.
