FACC to Hold Charity Art Auction

Tomorrow marks the kickoff of a two-month-long charity art auction at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center.

Assistant Director Mendy McAdams says there are over 70 pieces that the public can peruse, purchase, and take right off the walls and place in their homes. McAdams adds that some of the art is nearly a century old.

“There’s art everywhere. So we have a whole section of originals including some local artists, two of which were done in the 1920s,” Mcadams explains. “And there’s a very wide range of price points. If you want art, you like art, we probably have a price point for you.”

The public is invited to an opening reception Friday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, during the First Fridays Art Walk at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center. Bidding for the art will be open at that time with the auction scheduled to wrap up on January 31st.

McAdams says the proceeds from the auction go to FACC and the Fairfield Art Association. Fundraisers like the auction allow the convention center to keep the entertainment affordable for guests, according to McAdams.
