DESCRIPTION:The Wapello County Trails Council is hosting their 17th annual Holiday\nLighted Hike on Friday\, November 19 from 5:30-8 p.m. in Ottumwa Park. Patrons can\nuse either the trailhead located behind Quincy Place Mall or in Central Addition Park and\ntake the underpass to the hike route. The hike will proceed through the Holiday Nights ‘n\nLights display. Cost is $5 per person. \nThe one-mile hike gives participants an opportunity to get a sneak preview of the\nupcoming seasonal light display sponsored by the Greater Ottumwa Partners In Progress\n(GOPIP) from a unique perspective—outside a car. This is the only opportunity to see the\nlights this way. Hikers must start the hike by 7:30 p.m. \nHikers should dress for the weather\, bring a flashlight\, and are reminded to walk along\nthe walk path only. Luminaries will line the trail. Refreshments\, including soup\, hot\nchocolate\, and cookies\, will be available. All proceeds support trail development in\nOttumwa.
