SUMMARY:OCCP presents A Fairy Tale Christmas Carol
DESCRIPTION:OCCP presents A Fairy Tale Christmas Carol\nNovember 18\, 2022 – November 20\, 2022 \nDirected by Becky Ingle & Marc Lay \nPerformed with special arrangements with Pioneer Drama Service \nFriday\, November 18 @ 7 p.m. \nSaturday\, November 19 @ 7 p.m. \nSunday\, November 20 @ 3 p.m. \nTickets available at the door.  Adults $10 | Students $5 \nEveryone’s favorite classic holiday tale gets the fractured fairy-tale treatment.  All the famous fairy-tale characters take on all of the memorable roles of Dickens’s A Christmas Carol.  You’ll never know who will show up next as the Big Bad Wolf (as Ebenezer Scrooge) meets his old business partner Jacob Midas (Marley)\, who could turn anything to gold.  Midas warns Big Bad that he’ll be visited by The Ghosts of Christmas Past\, Present\, and Future (played by a Fairy Godmother\, Old King Cole\, and the Queen of Hearts respectively).  The ghosts make Scrooge realize what a scoundrel he’s been to the Charming (or Crachit) family — including Prince Philip\, Cinderella and their kids\, Hansel\, Gretel\, and Tabitha\, their Little Match Girl — and help him to remember what the Christmas spirit is all about.  This fun-filled adaptation stays true to the warmth and heart of the classic. \nEvent Location \nBridge View Center\n102 Church St\nOttumwa IA \nFor more information\, contact: \nhttps://www.facebook.com/occpkids

SUMMARY:Holiday Lighted Hike
DESCRIPTION:Holiday Lighted Hike\nNovember 18\, 2022\n5:30 pm – 8:00 pm \nThe Wapello County Trails Council is hosting the 18th annual Holiday Lighted Hike on Friday\, November 18 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in Ottumwa Park. Participants can park at the trailhead located behind Quincy Place Mall or in Central Addition Park and take the underpass to the hike route entrance. The hike will proceed through the Holiday Nights ‘n Lights display. Cost is $5 per person. The one mile hike provides a sneak preview of the upcoming seasonal light display\, sponsored by Greater Ottumwa Partners in Progress (GOPIP)\, from a unique perspective–outside a car. This is the only opportunity to see the lights this way. HIkers must start their hike by 7:30 p.m. to allow enough time to get through the display. HIkers should dress for the weather\, bring a flashlight\, and are reminded to walk along the walk path only. Luminaries will line the trail. Refreshments\, including soup\, cookies\, and hot chocolate\, will be available. All proceeds support trail development in Ottumwa. \nEvent Location \nOttumwa Park\nOttumwa IA

SUMMARY:House Fire and Theft Damage
DESCRIPTION:On December 23rd we had an electrical fire in our attic which left us homeless. Caused damage to all our rafters and ceilings as well as belongings. They would not allow us to remove anything. Then January 2nd two teenagers (caught and arrested) broke into our house and stole a lot of our electronics and valuables then took a hatchet and destroyed almost everything we had left. We have 3 children and just need some help trying to fix our home back up so we can go home. Thank you for help. \nhttps://www.gofundme.com/f/2xlpobhqco?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=mail.google.com&utm_campaign=comms_hr7+2xlpobhqco
