Trip to Prairie Stroll in Jefferson County

Jefferson County Conservation Board is bringing together M.J. Hatfield and Moni Hayne, and this will be a great presentation. The Wapello County Conservation Board will be taking a van to the Jefferson CCB nature center on Tuesday, July 24 for the Prairie Stroll. This is a free trip and event, but it is limited to the first 14 to register. This stroll is geared more toward adults. Here is a description from the Jefferson CCB. “Prairie enthusiasts will love this opportunity to see the prairie through the eyes of M.J. Hatfield and Moni Hayne, looking at both the plants there and the insects that are a vital part of it. M.J. will start indoors at the Jefferson County Park nature center with a prairie insect presentation and then participants will head out to the nearby prairie with M.J. and Moni for a prairie plant and insect walk.” The presentation begins at 5:15 pm.We will leave Pioneer Ridge nature center by 4:15 pm, and the Hydro Dam parking lot in Ottumwa around 4:30.
