Bring your lawn chair and picnic to campus. Vocalist Kathleen Holeman and Indian
Hills own David Sharp showcase the legendary jazz vocalist Nancy Wilson and
saxophonist Julian “Cannonball” Adderley. Wilson and Adderley began collaborating
in 1959 in NYC and she performed until 2011 charting 11 songs in the Hot 100 and placed four albums in Billboard's Top LP charts. She won her first Grammy in 1964,
for best R&B recording for her LP “Glad I Am” and went on to win Best Jazz
Vocal Grammy Awards for her albums “R.S.V.P. (Rare Songs, Very Personal)” (2005)
and “Turned to Blue” (2007). Wilson was also a successful TV actress before her death
in 2018.
