The Ottumwa Chapter of Employers Council of Iowa will be hosting Laci Morrissey, MA, LMHC, NCC on February 21st for a Mental Health in the Workplace training opportunity. She will be providing information about Mental Health First Aid in the workplace, how to recognize warning signs, address your concerns, monitor burnout and provide tips for healthy coping and available resources.

The training costs $10 per participant and will be held at IowaWORKS, 15260 Truman Street in Ottumwa Iowa. For more information I’ve attached a flier and a registration sheet to complete and return. Payment should be made to Employers’ Council of Iowa and is due by the day of the training.

Laci Morrissey, a native to Southeast Iowa, attended Evangel University in Springfield, MO, graduating with a bachelor’s in Psychology and minor in Bible; and Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA, graduating with a master’s in Community Counseling.  She became an independently Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC).  She worked professionally as a horse trainer and riding instructor throughout school, during which she competed on the US team in an equestrian competition in South Africa.  Laci has held various positions in the mental health field, such as clinical director and Integrated Health Home director at a community mental health center, co-teaching Mental Health First Aid and Youth Mental Health First Aid classes; and later opened a private outpatient mental health counseling practice, Catalyst Country LLC, specializing in animal-assisted therapy.  In 2018 she became a published children’s book author with her title, “Daddies”; and in 2019 became the mental health counselor at Indian Hills Community College, providing mental health services to students through the development of the Counseling and Prevention Resource Center.  She has served over the years in various part-time ministry positions, including college/career and children’s ministry directors.  She married her high school sweetheart, Levi; and both are licensed Realtors in Iowa, local commercial and residential landlords, and remodel properties through Levi’s construction company.  They live in the beautiful Iowa countryside with their beloved children.
