Aldo Leopold “Green Fire” – February 9

Professor Thomas Dean’s presentation of Aldo Leopold “Green Fire” has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 9. The Wapello County Conservation Board welcomes Thomas Dean – a trained Land Ethic Leader through the Aldo Leopold Foundation – for a presentation including a screening of the Emmy Award-winning Aldo Leopold documentary, “Green Fire.” It will be followed by a discussion of the film and Leopold’s land ethic and maybe even some time outside.

Green Fire is a film about legendary environmentalist Aldo Leopold who wrote A Sand County Almanac. Leopold was born and raised not too far away in Burlington Iowa. The film and discussion will challenge you to contemplate your own relationship with the land community.

This presentation is made possible through the Humanities Iowa Speakers Bureau, is free, and open to the public. Again, this event takes place Saturday, February 9 at 1:00 in the afternoon. Light refreshments will be available. If you have questions, call the Wapello CCB at 641-682-3091.
