Evelyn Elaine Mobley, 86, of Ottumwa, died at 7:42 p.m. July 3, 2020 at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines.
She was born April 30, 1934 in Green County, IA to Raymond and Velma Palmer Godwin. She married Harry Mobley August 13, 1955 and later divorced.
Evelyn was baptized in the Church of Christ in Yale, IA and attended Byard Community Schools where she graduated high school. She lived in Agency, IA from 1971 to 1978 when she moved to Ottumwa.
She worked at Everco for 24 years. She was a member of American Business Women Association and O.B. Nelson Unit #3 American Legion Auxiliary. She also volunteered many hours for various organizations.
Surviving are her 3 children, Richard (Lennie) Mobley of Spring Valley, IL, Robert (Julie) Mobley of New Virginia, IA and Rhonda (Angelo) Sandoval of Des Moines, IA; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Wendell Lindahl; 2 nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Randy Mobley; 2 sisters, Maxine Lindahl and Virginia Evans; a
brother-in-law, Clarence Evans; and a very good friend, Darrell McCarty.
Limited open visitation for friends will be from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 8th at Reece Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the visitation with inurnment in Highland Cemetery in Bayard, IA at a later date.
