February is National Heart Health Month and in recognition of that, Mahaska Health will be hosting an open house on Tuesday, February 12 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

The event will be held at the Cedar Bluff Learning Center in Oskaloosa. Visitors will have the opportunity to chat with medical professionals about various topics regarding heart health including diet, exercise and sleep services.

Renee Edgar is a Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse for Mahaska Health and she said:

“Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, so we think it is essential to bring awareness to heart month. This event is an excellent opportunity for community members to learn more about the importance of heart health.”

A lunch and learn session featuring Cardiologist Dr. Phillip Bear will be from 12:00 to 1:00 PM. The session requires an RSVP which can be submitted by calling (641) 660-3240.

The entire function is free and open to the public.
